Our Mission

The Capital Area Veterinary Emergency Service (CAVES), a limited liability corporation (LLC), was incorporated in 2000 by area veterinarians dedicated to providing the best care for your pets.

Emergency and critical care for pets has made great leaps in recent years. To provide the best, it is necessary to have the experience and equipment for this advanced care. This is difficult to do at your primary care veterinarian due to patient caseload (most of the local facilities see less than 150 emergency cases per year) and money required for up-to-date critical care equipment.

To solve these problems, CAVES was formed to serve as a central location so a staff dedicated to critical care with the appropriate equipment is available for your pet.
